ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tony Joyce is Southern California born and stayed in CA for most of his life except for a short enlistment in the U.S. Navy. He had 2-1/2 years art education at La Trade Tech. before the Navy and 2-1/2 years at Los Angeles Art Center in the 60's. Cash strapped, he needed to find work to pay for any further education. He found work at North American Aviation in Downey as a Technical Illustrator. After 5 years of service and many threats of layoffs without a pay hike, he decided to move onto better things.
After ten years of moving from in-shop art and advertising agencies to printers and even as an ad manager in one mfg. co. he decided again to move on.
But this time it was his own business. On the first day he picked up a small printer as a client and he was in business from then on. He serviced small and medium local companies for their art and printing needs and even planned whole advertising campaigns for some of them. In the meantime he serviced small and large agencies and studios in New York, Chicago, North Carolina, Atlanta for their illustration and art needs.
Now retired as a commercial artist yet taking on some older clients and periodically new work if it seems worthwhile, he is enjoying his day painting and drawing from his home studio.
This is still my drawing board and my home studio today.
My wife and myself have lived in this home for 37 years and we are happy with it. Out of this home studio alone I have produced over 100,000 drawings, paintings, ideas and plans.I hope to be active for years to come and I'm not looking forward to moving anytime soon.
I am seeking commissions for future art. A good way to start would be to use any of the samples as a take off point.
